Amuse appoints Giorgio D’Ambrosio to CEO, expands Artist & Label Services across US and Europe

Longstanding board member formally steps into the role as Amuse announces passing $30 million USD invested into independent artists.

Home to billion-streaming songs and more than 400 partnerships with international independent acts, music distribution company Amuse has built their own idea of what a modern independent alternative to a record business should look like. Now, the company appoints longstanding board member Giorgio D’Ambrosio to the CEO role, to lead the company into its next chapter.

Giorgio D’Ambrosio was an early investor and has been part of Amuse’s board since 2020, serving as interim CEO during the past year. Now officially stepping into the role, he brings a strong belief in the rising independent sector and Amuse’s ability to empower artists and labels with its in-house technology and services. D’Ambrosio was officially appointed this October by Amuse Board Chair Roger Ames.

With close to 100 employees across New York, London and Stockholm, Amuse has evolved beyond its open distribution platform into a full-service alternative to traditional labels. Today, the company’s offering unites in-house distribution and data platforms with curated, hands-on Artist & Label Services, bridging all parts of the independent community – bedroom artists as well as teams of international stars and labels.

"Amuse is uniquely set up to both discover and help artists turn momentum into careers. Following Amuse’s partnerships, I’ve seen bedroom artists grow into billion-streaming acts with headline tours, but also established artists turning towards our independent model rather than the traditional label route. We’re at an incredibly exciting moment, and I’m proud to lead the company into this next chapter," said Giorgio D’Ambrosio, CEO of Amuse.

This fall, Amuse hit a major milestone of more than $30 million USD invested into its artist partnerships through advances and marketing funds. Through a dedicated team of professionals, its Artist & Label Services division looks after more than 400 partnerships, offering tailored deals, funding and hands-on services like release strategy, editorial relations, marketing, sync and royalty and catalog management. Amuse’s roster includes billion streaming artists like Yot Club, The Walters, Hotel Ugly, 80purppp and Vundabar, as well as rising stars like Emei, Deki Alem, Djezja and Stela Cole.

The Artist & Label Services division today looks after a catalog of 8,000 songs, of which multiple surpass one billion streams through their Amuse partnership. The catalog includes songs that meet the sales and streaming thresholds for 10 U.S. Platinum certifications, 14 Canadian Platinum certifications, 4 U.K. Platinum certifications, and 96 Swedish Platinum certifications.

Amuse also welcomes Dan Rowe, COO of Firebird Music, to its board. At Firebird, he has been instrumental in scaling operations, securing growth capital, and building out Firebird's label and distribution businesses. He is also a founder of One Riot Music and previously led the boutique music advisory firm Sword Rowe, experience that spans building modern music companies, developing artists, and scaling data-driven operations.

“I have been impressed by Amuse’s vision and the distribution and data technology they have built,” said Dan Rowe. “It is a powerful model that blends the best of DIY culture with the capabilities of a modern independent record business", said Dan Rowe, board member of Amuse.
