Amuse opens up music video distribution to Spotify and Vevo for DIY artists

The new feature gives DIY artists an easy, affordable way to distribute official music videos directly to streaming services.

Independent music distribution and Artist & Label Services company Amuse today announces the launch of music video distribution within their DIY platform, giving self-releasing artists and teams a simple way to deliver official music videos directly to streaming services. Rolling out to all Amuse members on Artist, Artist Plus and Professional plans, the new feature is available as a one-time purchase through the Amuse web app. Leading with Spotify and Vevo, additional streaming services are set to follow throughout the spring.

The feature expands Amuse’s self-service offering beyond audio, giving artists at all stages of their career access to an increasingly important release format as the importance of visual content grows for music discovery, fandom and artist development.

While Amuse has been delivering music videos for acts within their Artist & Label Services partnerships for some time, the company has now built on this expertise to become one of the only DIY distributors offering access to self-releasing artists and teams. Designed to make the process straightforward and affordable, artists already distributing a song through Amuse will be able to submit an official music video for review and delivery. As with Amuse’s distribution of music, all submitted videos will go through a thorough review process to ensure they meet platform requirements.

Music video distribution will be offered on a pay-per-video basis, with pricing set at $34.99 per video and year, creating a flexible option for artists and teams who want professional video distribution without taking on the cost of a separate service.

“Being able to properly deliver music videos is no longer a nice-to-have for artists. They are an increasingly important part of how fans discover music and how artists shape their identity on streaming platforms. Making music video distribution easier and more accessible for independent and DIY artists is another important step in our mission to give artists the infrastructure they need to build sustainable careers on their own terms”, says Erik Söderblom, Chief Product Officer at Amuse.

The feature is built on top of Amuse’s new and improved DIY platform, introduced last fall to facilitate even quicker and more efficient product development. The platform has enabled a steady rollout of new features over the past few months – like Auto Saves and fan base management, cover song licensing, business payouts and a 24h release turnaround. These are all important steps in Amuse’s broader mission to build world-class infrastructure for independent artists and teams, ensuring that professional-grade tools are not reserved for the top end of the market but made accessible to the wider DIY segment as well.
