THE VINYL CUT - CAMPAIGN COMPETITION TERMS & CONDITIONS
2026-08-23
1. ABOUT THE COMPETITION
1.1 Off the Beaten Track(s) is a music competition and live listening event (the “Competition”) organised by Amuseio AB (“Amuse”, “we”, “us”), in partnership with elasticStage Ltd (“elasticStage”) and Parasol (“Parasol”) (collectively and jointly as “Partner”)
1.2 The Competition invites independent artists based in the UK to submit an original music track for the chance to have it professionally pressed to vinyl by elasticStage, played at a live listening event at Parasol, Dalston, London, and to win additional prizes as set out in these Terms and Conditions.
1.3 By submitting an entry, you (“Entrant”) confirm that you have read and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety. If you do not agree, you must not submit an entry.
2. ELIGIBILITY
2.1 The Competition is open to individuals and acts who, at the time of entry:
(a) are aged 18 or over;
(b) are based in London, United Kingdom; and
(c) are independent artists, meaning they are not signed to a major record label and retain ownership or exclusive control of the master recording(s) they submit; and
(d) accept the applicable Partner’s agreements and their terms and conditions (including elasticStage).
2.2 The Competition is not open to:
(a) employees, contractors, or agents of Amuse or any Partner, or any member of their immediate families or households; or
(b) anyone directly involved in the administration, judging, or promotion of the Competition.
2.3 Amuse may require an Entrant to provide reasonable evidence of eligibility (including proof of age or address) at any stage of the Competition and may disqualify any Entrant who fails to provide this within a reasonable time of being asked, or who does not otherwise satisfy these criteria. Amuse's determination as to eligibility is final.
3. HOW TO ENTER
3.1 To enter the Competition, you must submit a completed entry via the official submission form, accessible at this link, during the Submission Period.
3.2 The Submission Period opens on August 27th, 2026 and closes at 23:59 BST on September 14th, 2026 (“Deadline”). Entries received after the Deadline will not be considered.
3.3 Each artist or act may submit one (1) entry only. Multiple submissions from the same artist or act will result in all of that artist’s submissions being disqualified.
3.4 Your submission must include, at minimum:
(a) your artist or act name;
(b) a valid email address for competition correspondence;
(c) a link to the release you are submitting;
(d) the title and duration of the Track; and
(e) any other information requested in the submission form.
3.5 Amuse accepts no responsibility for entries lost, delayed, corrupted, or not received for any technical reason or otherwise. Proof of submission is not proof of receipt by Amuse.
4. RIGHTS IN YOUR SUBMISSION
This section is important. Please read it carefully before submitting.
4.1 By submitting an entry, you confirm, represent, and warrant that
Master recording
(a) You own or exclusively control the master recording of the focus track submitted (“Track”). If any other party — including a record label, producer, or co-artist — has any claim or copyright interest to the master recording, you have obtained their prior written consent to submit the Track and authorise the uses described in these Terms and Conditions.
Composition rights
(b) You own the copyright in the underlying musical composition (melody, lyrics, and arrangement) of the Track, or — where the track is co-written — all co-writers have given their prior written consent to the submission, the vinyl pressing, and the public performance of the Track as described in these Terms and Conditions.
No uncleared samples
(c) TheTrack does not contain any samples, interpolations, or other material derived from third-party recordings or compositions that have not been fully cleared and licensed for use on a vinyl pressing and for the public performance during the event, regardless of the length, degree of alteration, or perceived availability of the sampled material.
(d) If you supply or submit any artwork or any other material associated with the Track, you own or have obtained all necessary rights and consents (including any third-party photography, imagery or design rights embodied in it) to permit its reproduction on the vinyl pressing and in promotional material as described in these Terms and Conditions.
Featured artists
(e) Any artist whose performance appears on the Track, whether credited or uncredited, has given their prior written consent to the submission and to the uses of their performance set out in these Terms and Conditions.
Publishing
(f) If the composition is subject to a publishing agreement or is administered by a music publisher, you have confirmed with your publisher that submitting the Track for this Competition, and the associated vinyl pressing and public performance, are permitted under your publishing agreement.
Capacity and accuracy
(g) You have full power and authority to enter into these Terms and Conditions, and to grant the rights granted under this clause 5, and all information you provide in connection with the Competition is true, accurate and not misleading.
Moral rights
(h) To the extent permitted by applicable law, you (and you procure that any applicable third party) waive all moral rights in the Track (and artwork, including the associated material) in connection with the Competition and the vinyl pressing.
4.2 Amuse reserves the right to disqualify any entry where, in Amuse’s reasonable opinion, the rights position is unclear, cannot be verified, or is disputed at any time before, during, or after the selection process.
4.3 You retain all copyright and ownership in your music and artwork. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions transfers any ownership of your intellectual property rights to Amuse or any Partner.
4.4 Responsibility and indemnification
a) For the avoidance of doubt, no vinyl pressed under these Terms and Conditions will be sold or commercially exploited by Amuse or any Partner, meaning pressings are made solely for the non-commercial purposes described in Clause 5 and are given to the relevant Selected Artist at no cost. Neither Amuse nor any Partner is responsible for identifying, clearing, or paying any sums, royalties, license fees or other sums payable to any third party, and nothing in these Terms and Conditions obliges Amuse or any Partner to obtain a mechanical or other licence on the Entrant's behalf.
b) Entract agree to indemnify and hold harmless Amuse and each Partner against all liabilities, costs, expenses, damages and losses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (i) any breach by the Entrant of these Terms and Conditions; (ii) any claim brought by a third party alleging that the Track, the Entrant's submission, or any artwork supplied by the Entrant infringes their intellectual property or other rights; or (iii) any claim brought by a third party for payment of a royalty, licence fee, or other sum.
5. LICENCE GRANTED TO AMUSE
5.1 By submitting an entry, you grant Amuse a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to:
(a) listen to and evaluate your submission for the purposes of administering the Competition;
(b) press one (1) copy of the Track to vinyl via elasticStage, if your entry is selected under Clause 6, subject to your provision of the required production files (including artwork and other associated material);
(c) play the Track publicly at the Off the Beaten Track(s) event at Parasol, Dalston, on 23 September 2026, if your track is selected for playback under Clause 6.5; and
(d) use your artist or act name, likeness, the title of your track and release, and any social media handles you provide, for promotional purposes directly related to this Competition and event, in any media known or later developed, including posts on Amuse’s and Partners’ social media channels, press releases, and campaign marketing materials.
(e) retain a copy of your submission and any production files for Amuse's internal purposes (and including Partner’s internal purposes).
5.2 The licence in Clause 5.1(d) does not extend to the reproduction or broadcast of your recording in full for commercial purposes, or to its inclusion in any Amuse product or subscription service, without your separate written consent.
5.3 Amuse may use reasonable efforts to credit you when using your name or track title in promotional content. Notwithstanding the foregoing, any inadvertent failure by Amuse to credit will not constitute a breach of these Terms and Conditions.
5.4 By attending the Off the Beaten Track event, Entrants acknowledge that photography, filming and audio recording may take place. Entrant grant Amuse and Partner and their authorised partners an irrevocably, worldwide, royalty-free license to use their name, likeness and any footage or photographs featuring them in connection with the promotion of the Competition, the event and future editions of the event across press, social media, websites and other marketing materials, without additional payment or further consent.
6. SELECTION, VINYL PRESSING, AND PRIZES
Selection — up to 100 artists
6.1 Following the close of the Submission Period, all eligible entries will be reviewed by Amuse’s curatorial team and judging panel. Amuse will select up to 100 artists or acts (“Selected Artists”) whose tracks will be pressed to vinyl by elasticStage.
6.2 Selected Artists will be notified by email to the address provided at submission by September 20th, 2026 (or such other date as Amuse may determine in its sole discretion).
6.3 Each Selected Artist will receive one (1) vinyl pressing of their focus track at no cost. To receive the vinyl pressing, Selected Artists must:
(a) complete the production specification form provided by Amuse within 14 days of their selection notification, supplying a lossless audio file (WAV or AIFF, minimum 44.1kHz/16-bit stereo, with no embedded metadata) and artwork meeting the technical specifications communicated by Amuse; and
(b) collect their pressed vinyl in person at Parasol, Dalston, London on 23 September 2026.
(c) Amuse reserves the right to reject or require replacement production files or artwork that do not comply with the technical specifications, infringe third-party rights, or are otherwise unsuitable for manufacture. Amuse is not liable for any delay, failure or inaccuracy in the prize, the vinyl press, including any delay, failure or inaccuracy arising from Entrant’s and/or Selected Artists’ end.
6.4 Failure to provide the required production files by the deadline, or failure to collect the vinyl at the event, will result in forfeiture of the vinyl pressing. Uncollected vinyls will not be sent by post or otherwise delivered after the event.
(a) Amuse reserves the right not to manufacture, distribute or make available any vinyl pressing where it reasonably believes that the rights in a submission cannot be verified, where legal or technical issues arise, or where production is otherwise not reasonably possible.
Top 25 — public playback
6.5 From among the Selected Artists, the judging panel will select up to 25 tracks (“Shortlisted Tracks”) for public playback at the Off the Beaten Track(s) event. Artists whose tracks are shortlisted will be notified prior to the event.
(a) Selection for vinyl pressing does not guarantee that a Track will be played publicly at the event. Playback is limited to the Shortlisted Tracks selected under Clause 6.5.
(b) The order, duration and manner of playback at the event are at Amuse's sole discretion and may be changed at any time for operational, technical or programming reasons.
The prize — one overall winner
6.6 One overall winner will be selected from the Shortlisted Tracks by the judging panel. The overall winner will receive:
(a) one (1) recording session at a leading London recording studio (studio to be agreed with Amuse; session to be completed within 12 months of the date of award);
(b) studio credits for future recording, production, or mixing sessions (monetary value and specific terms to be confirmed by Amuse);
(c) one (1) year’s subscription to Amuse’s Professional Digital Distribution Plan, commencing from the date of award; and
(d) ten (10) additional pressed vinyl copies of their focus track;
6.7 The prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable. No cash or other alternative will be offered in substitution for any element of the prize.
6.8 Amuse reserves the right to substitute any element of the prize, including the recording studio or studio credits with an alternative of equal or greater value where reasonably necessary.
7. THE JUDGING PANEL
7.1 The judging panel for this Competition includes [Jodie Bryant, BBC Introducing] and [Lazee Kulego, Amuse Senior A&R]. Amuse reserves the right to vary the composition of the judging panel where reasonably necessary.
7.2 Judges will evaluate submissions on the basis of artistic quality and originality. Specific judging criteria are at the panel’s professional discretion.
7.3 All decisions made by the judging panel are final. No correspondence will be entered into regarding any selection, shortlisting, or judging decision.
8. THE EVENT
8.1 Off the Beaten Track(s) will take place on Wednesday 23 September 2026, from 6:00pm to 10:00pm (or such other date/time as Amuse may determine in its sole discretion), at Parasol, Dalston, London.
8.2 Attendance at the event is subject to availability and venue capacity. Amuse may provide event attendance information to Selected Artists in advance.
8.3 Entry to the event is restricted to persons aged 18 or over. Valid photographic identification will be required at the door.
8.4 Amuse and Parasol reserve the right to refuse admission to, or remove any person from, the event in accordance with their standard venue and event policies.
8.5 Amuse reserves the right to alter the programme of, postpone, or cancel the event in circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, health and safety concerns, or government restrictions. In such circumstances, Amuse will endeavour to rearrange the event and notify affected parties as soon as reasonably practicable. No compensation will be payable in respect of any such alteration, postponement, or cancellation. For the avoidance of doubt, each Selected Artist and Entract is responsible for their own travel, accommodation, subsistence, and any other costs incurred in connection with attending the event.
9. DISQUALIFICATION
9.1 Amuse reserves the right to disqualify any entry, Entrant or any other participation at any time if Amuse reasonably believes that:
(a) any of the representations or warranties made under the Terms and Conditions are false, inaccurate, or misleading;
(b) the entrant has acted in breach of any provision of these Terms and Conditions;
(c) the entrant has engaged in fraudulent, dishonest, or disruptive conduct in connection with the Competition; or
(d) the entry contains material that is offensive, defamatory, unlawful, or otherwise inappropriate.
9.2 If a Selected Artist or winner is disqualified after notification, Amuse reserves the right to award the relevant benefit to the next eligible entrant at its discretion.
10. DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY
10.1 In accordance with applicable data protection laws, Amuseio AB and the Partner are data controllers for personal information collected in connection with this Competition.
10.2 Personal information you provide when entering the Competition — including your name, email address, and social media handles — will be used for the purposes of administering the Competition, communicating with you about your entry and the event, and (where you have separately opted in) sending you marketing communications from Amuse.
10.3 Amuse will handle the shared personal information in accordance with the applicable data protection law.
10.4 The personal information will not be shared with third parties other than those directly involved in the administration and production of this Competition (including elasticStage), or as required by law.
10.5 To exercise your rights under data protection law, including the right of access, correction, or erasure of your personal data, please contact privacy@amuse.io .
11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
11.1 Amuse and Partner accept no liability for any loss, damage, or injury suffered by an entrant in connection with their participation in the Competition or attendance at the event, except where such liability cannot be excluded or limited by law.
11.2 Amuse accepts no responsibility for any technical failures, faults, or disruptions affecting the submission process, the vinyl pressing, the event, or any element of the prize.
11.3 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits Amuse’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
11.4 Each of Amuse and Partners is liable only for its own acts and omissions, and nothing in these Terms and Conditions makes Amuse liable for the acts or omissions of a Partner, or a Partner liable for the acts or omissions of Amuse or another Partner.
12. GENERAL
12.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with the Competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12.2 Amuse reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any material amendments will be communicated via the campaign page at this link. Continued participation in the Competition following such notification constitutes acceptance of the amended terms.
12.3 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
12.4 The Competition is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Instagram, TikTok, Meta, or any other social media platform used to promote the Competition. 12.6 Failure by Amuse to comply with the Agreements because of a force majeure event will not be deemed a breach of the Terms and Conditions. In no event does Amuse accept any liability or responsibility for any error, failure or interruption under these Terms and Conditions, whether or not arising from a force majeure event.
